Heart Beat

A girl's heart isn't your game. You can't play with it, or it will break. One wrong move will send it smashing against the wall and scattering a million irreplaceable pieces. To win it, you must earn it. To lose it, do something stupid. It's as fragile as a newborn bird. You have been warned.

Dear Bullies

I think about the time
where my life, what once was mine
was taken from me
but you didn't see

That I think about the end
no more fake or pretend
we will graduate one day,
I'll move on, my separate way

What you miss, girl
when you're in someone else's world
cause you never let it go
never leave me alone

Worry about you
it makes it easier, it's true
if you really, truly care
it's ok, but don't you dare

come into my world,
and make trouble for me, girl
I have enough without you being mean
as insignificant as it may seem

Suicide Awareness Day

In case you don't know, today is Suicide Awareness day. OVER A MILLION PEOPLE ATTEMPT SUICIDE EVERY YEAR. A GOOD PORTION SUCCEED. Suicide is one topic that I feel very strong about, and here's why: Last year, when I was in 7th grade, I was having a really rough time. I was getting picked on at school, from people who thought it was funny, and who had no sense of how to act. I was going through some serious friendship issues: my friends would constantly give me a hard time about every little thing, and when it wasn't one person, it was somebody else. It was just little things, and some of it was meant as a joke, but it wasn't funny to me. And it built up over time until it got to the point where everything that everyone did got under my skin. I was also going through a rough patch with my parents, who got divorced many years ago, but these days, I'm starting to see what an effect it really had on my life. I would scream at my parents, cry, run, everything in my power to make them regret getting divorced. And then there's the problem that I don't get enough sleep. I will try to go to bed, and then I can't and the later it gets, the more upset I get, until finally, I can't take it anymore, and I'm crying hysterically, and I feel like my world is over. I just wanted it to end, right there, I kept thinking it would never get better, my parents are jerks, my friends aren't my friends, nobody cares. I wanted to commit suicide right there.

But then, I thought to myself: I am such a hard working, driven person, with a high energy personality and a happy vibe coming from me. It made my heart glow when I made people smile. Making people happy, making them laugh, helping them, means so much to me. What would happen if I wasn't around to make them smile anymore? I realized that I MATTER. That I WAS BORN FOR A REASON. THAT I WAS ONLY 12 OR 13 AT THE TIME AND I HAD SO MUCH MORE LIVING TO DO. That THE WORLD WOULD NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT ME. THAT PEOPLE WOULD CARE IF I DIED.  And that's why I am writing this right now. I realized that my friends were awesome, and that I was just being to irritable. That my parents are divorced and that is that, and there are a million upsides to that too. That bullies are insecure jerks that have nothing better to do with their time than pick on people. But I'm no punching dummy. I have my place in this world. I MATTER.

It's said that we're given no challenges we can't handle. And what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. And if you need help, ask me. I'm here for you.

If you committed suicide, I would miss you.

Strong Inspiration.

What makes YOU happy?

Life is full of good times and bad times. The bad times can be hard to get through, soooo.... think about this: what makes you happy? There are a variety of things that make me happy. As soon as you know what makes you happy, try to find as many pictures of that thing as possible. What you do with the pictures is now totally up to you. I hang them up on a wall in my room, but you could also put them in your binder, keep them in your school locker, whatever. As long as they are in a place where you will see them often. Whenever you're upset,  look at the pictures. This might sound like a kindergarden-ish thing to do, but if you think about it, so is napping....and I LOVE NAPPING!!! (again, I happen to be 14, NOT in kindergarden :). And besides, it really helps.

By the way, for all those directioners out there.....(Not me :) pictures of them do count :)

There are some days..

...when you feel like you never fit in. Those are the days that you need to stop trying to fit in to that crowd that will never accept you. There are mean people in this world, and if you don't fit their impossible standards, they won't include you. Besides, it's likely that even if they did include you, you would still be an outsider, or still be unhappy. So just be yourself. If anyone hates you for being you, they don't deserve to be around you.

...when you mess up big time, and wish you could fix it. Life is full of bad times. Any time something is happening that's really awesome or really bad, I remind myself that it will eventually be over. In this case (when it's something bad), just tough it out and get through. You won't be the first person to make a mistake. :)

...when something horrible happens in your life that you had no control over. Don't let it get to you too much. People sometimes spend YEARS in sadness over what happens in their family. When my parents got divorced, I felt like my life was over. I couldn't breathe. And MORE AND MORE FAMILIES are getting divorced (not saying that your family will, just that lots of people's families do :). You are never the only one that has your situation. Just don't waste your life being sad over it. Sure, it's natural to grieve, but (for example), if a relative died, they would never have wanted you to be sad your whole life. Cry a little, then let it go. You can't stop living because someone else did.

Also, check out www.just-be-you-i-am-me.blogspot.com. They post the same types of things as me. Lastly, if you have a Google account, please follow me. I am happy to follow you too!! ONE MORE THING (sorry :) If you have an instagram, please follow me: @lllblogger !!!!!

School is Almost Started...

... that could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. I mean, with school back on, you get to see your friends almost every day, instead of having to go to their houses or meet up somewhere or something. After school activities start up again. Weekends seem more special. But there are also those downsides, like not having limitless free time, school work, sitting in a building for 6 or 7 hours a day....do you see it as good or bad? Hey Everyone,

I am finally starting to get used to my instagram :) I have been trying to post pictures that might make other people happy, or that other people can relate to (which mostly has to do with my Versagram posts and reposts of Teenager Posts). But anyway, I am really inspired that so many people have been following me. When i know that I can make other people happy, it inspires me to do just that- thats why i love it when I get feedback, even as simple as following this blog, following my instagram, and liking my pictures. @lllblogger Inspiration

Almost Halfway Gone

Summer is almost at its halfway mark......now it's time to evaluate. Have you been wasting away, doing nothing this summer but spend time on social websites such as facebook, twitter, instagram, etc., and watching t.v., and sitting around in the house? Or have you been DOING things: Going to the pool, the beach, the park, and things that you can only do in the summer? At the end of each day, you should give the day a rating from one to five stars, and if it's lower than a five, decide what could have made it better, and do that tomorrow.

Going out of Business.....

Hey everyone,

I have been following a blogger that has been following me: @Aly and Bella. And they have said that they are going to stop posting for good if they continue to have zero comments, pageviews, etc. I feel really bad because I have been around for less time, but I have had more comments and pageviews and stuff than them. They have always faithfully posted comments on my blog and everything. So please help to keep our fashion experts, @Aly and Bella, alive.

The Point of View of a 13/14-Year-Old

Father

I am me.
I am impatient and loud.
So is he.

He never gives me space.
I constantly have to push
to get him out of my face.

He never leaves me alone.
I try to be patient but
rudeness gets the best of my tone.

He pokes and pries
I can only take so much
no matter how hard I try,

so he's off the deep end.
I fire back
to hurt and defend.

Maybe if he listened for real
Instead of always thinking what to say next
he would know how I feel.

I hate going to his place
and when I say this,
the constant question is in my face:

"WHAT IS AT YOUR MOM'S HOUSE THAT ISN'T HERE?"
And, for the billionth time, I tell him:
"Everything, I fear,"

but nothing's ever good enough.
So time and time again,
he asks. And times get increasingly rough.

So out comes the dragon in me.
I'm not a softie, I'm pretty tough,
So he'll never see the crier in me.

I should hold in my temper,
but that takes control.
So it comes out whenever.

If I could (or wanted to) hold the dragon back
it might be better
but I don't want to. I'd rather be heard. So I'm off my track

Like a train, constantly gaining speed,
crushing everything
from big, blossomed problem to one the size of a seed

but sometimes, life will be too big to crush
I'll wreck
turning into nothing but mush.

But I WILL be heard, no matter what comes across
He needs to learn things
that over the years he has lost.

His times of being a kid are gone
and releasing his temper
is no longer "wrong."

He forgot how to be good.
And I did too.

Jailbird

When I'm 18 and times get rough, I'll be gone as quick as a thunder's clap.

My parents have forgotten how hard it is to be under the control of someone else.

Someone bigger and smarter and "always right."

But if parents get sick of each other, forget "being respectful" and "working it out." That's kid stuff. No one cares about that;  it's too much effort. So it's off to a divorce- the lazy way out. The easy way out. If only kids had that option.

But no- kids have to tough it out. Parents may tell their kids otherwise, but adulthood is the good life. You can get divorced and sue people.

You can do whatever you want without getting punished.

Yeah, sure, there's jail. But do parents go to jail for a petty argument they've had with their sibling?

Nope.

Do they get any type of punishment?

No way.

But when KIDS do it, do they get in trouble?

You tell me. In case there's any confusion, the answer is yes.

Parents may have to pay bills and buy food and whatever, but that doesn't mean they can treat their kids like garbage.

My parents give me a rude tone about once a day. It's like second nature to them. But when I mirror it, who gets in trouble?

My parents. Just kidding. It's me.

I'm going to save this for if I ever have kids. That way, I can actually be a good parent.

Inspired!

Hey, Everyone!
I first want to say, I am so amazed that someone is so dedicated that they check this blog every day! I am so......inspired!!! Inspired to blog more often, I can tell you that, and more than that, I am amazed that she or he feels like they "Owe me something." Trust me, you don't.
I started this blog because I felt like I owed something to my friends, and other people in the world. I used to suffer a lot because of stress, and it took the life out of me. Almost literally!!! My mom used to say to me, "Almost every girl in the world goes through this at one point or another. In fact, when you were born, I felt a bit sad because I knew that one day, you were going to have to deal with this." I was thunderstruck, that everyone else had these problems. I wanted to do what I could to solve them. Plus, I watched a movie that really inspired me to make this blog. It's sort of a childish movie, really, but it created this blog, right? The movie is Radio Rebel. It showed me that even normal kids can make a difference. Even though I haven't really made that much of a difference yet, I hope that by the time I am 16 (about 2 years from now!) Then I will have at least 20 fans. It's a dream. :)

Memorial Day and then....... SUMMER!

Memorial Day is here!! (Almost. :) Raise your hand if you LOVE summer! (Almost everyone in the world will raise their hand). Summer is awesome. You get to go to the pool or beach, no school to weigh you down and stress you out, and no more homework! Summer is the time to fulfill your "Bucket List." And no, I don't mean what you want to do before you die. :) I mean what you want to do in your free time this summer. Making a Summer Bucket List is a great way to ensure you make the most out of your summer and aren't left with that "oh-what-a-waste-of-summer" feeling in the fall.

"Get A Life"

Bullies got you down in the dumps? Here are some comebacks that are simple, but effective:

"What are you going to do about it?"
"Go bother someone who cares."
"Have you ever heard of the country called, 'Get Out Of My Face?' You should visit it sometime."
"I would be mean(er), but it's 'Be nice to animals' week."
"So?"
"Whatever. Who needs you?"
"Who asked you?"
"Thank you for your not-so-smart advice. Bye bye, now."

These comebacks, of course, are no excuse to be mean to people. Just use them if needed. Don't overuse them, or you will be branded as a bully yourself. These comebacks have seriously changed my life-- but that might be because I used to be a big bully target. Not anymore though. Things have changed-- I have started being nicer to people, and in return, they are nicer, and as for the bullies, they know not to mess with me, because I always have something to say back.

Siblings?

Does anyone have a sibling? (Raises hand :) Do you get along fairly well with your sibling? If so, great job! If not, you aren't alone. Most siblings fight. Some once in a while, some every day. Some with words, some with fists. My sister and my brother and I have the worst fights ever. They are both younger than me. The fights between my brother and me aren't nearly as bad as the fights between my sister and me. We fight over just about everything: from clothes, to who went into the other one's room without permission, to whether or not we should buy something. It's insane. And it happens at least once a day. And I'm not talking about snippy verbal arguments. We punch, hit, kick, slap, push; you name it. In the previous years, she has broken my finger, given me a black eye, and given me a deep cut down my leg, and I have pulled a muscle in her back, given her a bloody nose, and chipped her front tooth (on accident, but still during a fight). I can't say I'm exactly proud of it. But she annoys me so much!

Here are the top things that siblings have to say about each other:

  1. My brother/sister gets all the attention.
  2. Whatever my brother/sister does, it's always my fault, I always get blamed.
  3. My brother/sister are favored by my parents.
  4. They (brother/sister) bug me constantly.
  5. They invade my privacy and personal space, and
  6. They take stuff from me.
Been there, done that, right? So here is the time to vent about your sibling, right on this blog, in the comments. No names PLEASE, but tell me what you think about them. I know that probably no one will comment, considering that i haven't gotten many comments since March (I think), but I thought I would put it out there for those who have time.

All best,

Stop and Smell the Roses

Way too often, people breeze through life like it's something they can afford to waste. But you only live once. So stop and smell the roses or, in other words, appreciate everything in life, no matter how small it is. If someone pays you a compliment, return it with a smile. If someone gives you a gift, thank them, no matter how bad it is in your opinion. Appreciate that they thought about you. Especially in spring time, when everything is even more hectic then ever, and they are scrambling for the summer and to get their grades us, so life goes by without these little things. It makes them even more special and even easier to appreciate. So, sometime this week, I dare everyone reading this to give a compliment to at least 7 people. It may seem like a little thing to you, but you have no idea how much of a difference you may have made in their life.

Life As We Know It: Big Changes

Hey everyone! I am so sorry I haven't posted for so long. It has become harder and harder to post at 7:30, so sometimes, I will just have to post earlier or later, depending on the day. Without the 7:30 guideline, I will be able to post a lot more often. But I will try to make 7:30 as often as possible, so stay tuned!

This post is directed towards those of you who have had very big changes in their lives. I know there are many of us who have moved, had a parent/relative/sibling die or get majorly sick, have gotten sick themselves, transferred schools, lost a home, or lost a pet- anything that affects your life. It could even be something as simple as losing a favorite pair of shoes. Whatever changed your life, if you are feeling depression about these things, please comment them below. You can (and SHOULD) do it anonymously, but I strongly recommend you to do it. Sometimes, when you have something like that burning into your mind, it can stress you out and make it hard to think or concentrate. So please, if you want to feel better about something bad or tragic like that, please comment. We can join together to overcome anything.

The End Of The Break?

Sorry I didn't post more often. It has been CRAZY busy. I had a nice spring break, did you all? Yet, there's always that feeling of "what a wasted break. I didn't get to do anything at all over break." It's called being suspended in the fun. If you ever feel like that, then make a list of all of the things that went well over your break. If you can think of at least 3 things, then it wasn't wasted. If you can think of 5 things, then it was a good break. If you can think of 7 or more things, then you had the best break ever! And if you can think of less than 7, then try to plan activities ahead of time next break. Some ideas MIGHT appear next post, but I'm not making amy promises. ;)

Do What You Love, Love What You Do

This saying is usually used in the business world, to describe what type of jobs employees should look for. But it applies to our everyday actions, too. You should make the choices you want to make, and not be swayed by the crowd. This includes your choices of speech, friends, and even whether or not you will do your homework. (Yes, you will!) And you should love what you do: do something that will make you proud of your decision, not something that you will later look back at and think, "Why did I do that?" You have to own your decision. This includes snap decisions, which are hard because you need time to think about it. Do the right thing and hold your head high. And if people give you a hard time about it? Just say, "I'm too smart to do something stupid like that." No matter what they say, they can't change your mind unless you let them.

For more on this subject (kind of) look at my post called "Down to Earth" which was posted in Feb. It was probably one of my best posts ever.

Yawn and Snore.... but Does it Have to be a Bore?

A bit of advice from and for the wise--

I know everyone hates school and all. Who wouldn't? It is a bunch of information that is always either too hard or too easy, but never what we want it to be! And most certainly NOT fun. But, as they say, "life's what you make it." School is, too. For example, what is your favorite part of the school day? (BESIDES going home.) What do you like about that part? The teacher? Try to see if you can spot that teacher's qualities in other teahers.(That actually works for friends, too!!) That's just an example. And of everything that I have blogged so far, this may sound the most retarded. But it worked for me. And if all else fails, suck it up and stay out of trouble. You have to go to school because it's the law, so you might as well make the best of it.

I'm Sooo Sorry!

Hi, Everyone!

I'm SOOOOO sorry about not posting for that whole time. I've been taking those stupid MSAs (ugh) and, of course, THAT takes up a LOT of time.

But other than that, I've just been...... busy! Isn't everyone? That is a HUGE cause of stress-- being busy. The world is constantly moving faster and faster, and people are starting to be judged on how many activities they can cram into their schedules. But seriously, ease off! Everyone should have at least an hour of COMPLETELY FREE time (no homework, chores, jobs, nothing) every day. AFTER the hour of 3:00. BEFORE the hour of 9:00. If you don't have that hour, then maybe it's time to quit some sports. I know everyone LOVES to play sports, but trust me, you will have an easier life in the end. Besides, there are certain seasons for every sport, so there's an idea....

Get Smart Don't Start

Everyone that pays attention knows about the social hierarchy at their school.  They know what level they are on.  But some people get swayed by the stupid idea of popularity and they try to "get with the in crowd."  Do not become one of these people.  It makes your friends start to see you as an outsider, and kissing up to the populars is just a way to get them to use you.  So be smart.  Don't even start.  Just a helpful message :)

Not As Planned

Well, that didn't last long, did it?

As an effort to see how many people really do like my blog, I put a survey thing to the left. Please vote if you like my blog. Also, I fixed the time zone so it showed EST.

Now, let's talk about a subject I LOVE: MSAs. Just kidding. I HATE the MSAs. It's a lot of preparing, stressing, and suspense for one test. ONE TEST! (Well, 2 because math and language arts, and some people have science ones, but still.) MSAs are only for Maryland, but they have similar tests in almost every state. And really, what's the point?

  • If it's to test how much we know: Big deal. The teachers are smart enough to figure that out on their own. Plus, it's how much we KNOW, not how much we know after they jammed all this extra information in our heads.
  • If it's to teach us how to deal with big tests: WHY?!
  • If it's to review everything we have learned: In all of the MSAs that I have ever taken (and that's a lot, like 4 or 5 or 6 or something years), I can honestly state that the information is almost completely irrelevant to other information we have learned throughout the year. Especially for the people who are in advanced classes, since the MSAs are based on the normal classes.
Does anyone else agree? There needs to be a protest against MSAs. Use your voice. It wasn't given to you to hold. There is no wasting it by overuse, just underuse. Speak now. Please comment if you agree.

Be Heard, Be Strong, Be Proud!!!!!!!!

Here is a list of people that can really inspire you. Or, at least, inspired me. Please check them out. Some of them may be childish, but it really doesn't matter because the important thing is, things are being learned from them. (Not in any order)

1. Steve Jobs: "Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes …the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. …You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things. …They push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” -Steve Jobs
2. Lemonade Mouth: Childish, yes, but still, they are all about standing up for what you believe in. "Be heard! Be strong! Be proud!"
3. Nick Vujicic: This guy was born without hands or legs, and just has one small "foot" with 2 toes. But did he kick the bucket? Nope. He is currently doing surf, swimming, gulf and soccer. I can't even play that many sports with 2 arms and legs!!
4. Martin Luther King, Jr.: Had a dream that was SO DIFFERENT than what everyone was used to, people must have thought he had lost his mind. But guess what?? I will let you guess.

Down to Earth

Well, first of all, I would like to thank the commenters from the last post. I seriously thought that no one was going to even look at this blog- thank you so much!

You are probably wondering why this is called Down to Earth. Here's why: In middle school, particularly MY middle school, NO ONE IS. Everyone struts around wearing a fake armor labled "I'm invincible." Yeah, right. The truth is, once you get to know people, you realize that 9 times out of ten, it really is just that- an armor. So think about that next time someone says- or messages- that they can beat you up. They aren't invincible. No one is.

And to prove it, I dare you to comment your biggest fear ever below. You can do it anonymously, but please, take off that heavy and stressful armor for once and prove to the world that you are normal. Or at least not fake.

This is actually not psychology. It's a conscience. I'm in middle school. I go to AMS. I'm one of you. Assuming the readers are other middle schools, or maybe AMS itself. But I know you'll ask: What is this? Let me tell you a story: I'm one of those people who is not popular. Popularity at my school is such a confusing and dumb concept, it should be banned. And there are so many others who feel this way, I'm positive. The social hierarchy is ridiculous. It's a judgement. But, really, who's the judge? I am here to inspire you, like my cover name. I know about every problem that you might come to in middle school, because I am one of you. For example: Stress. Who likes stress? Yet every day, many people feel a pit in their stomach, an ache in their head, a tear in their eye, or the pressure to suck it up. All because of that. But I have actually learned to un-stress myself fairly easily. And I will help you, at least once a week, through this blog. You may think this is stupid, or a waste of time. And if so, then don't follow this blog. But keep in mind: Everyone deserves to be happy. Everyone deserves to live. And if your life is totally fab already? Perfect.
